Newly widowed Alice struggles to make ends meet, and her son is a real bratty little shit. Trying to make it as a singer, they travel towards the dream in California, stopping in Arizona when the money runs out. She gets a job as a waitress, and meets the goodhearted Kris Kristofferson. Also Harvey Keitel is here, and he gets a bit intense. Maybe the flip side of Raging Bull?
