It’s the indie rock classic story of the fall of the French Monarchy. Queen Kirsten Dunst keeps getting referred to as Marie Antoinette here, and Jason Schwartzman is a man-child Louis XVI who can’t keep up. She has a good time with her friends, listening to New Order on her Discman, gambling and eating cake. Then those dastardly commoners have to go and ruin it all with their demands for “equality” and “liberty”, whatever that is.
