One of the beating hearts of classic film noir-dom.  This searing 1940s tale from iconic crime author Cornell Woolrich (“The Bride Wore Black”) takes every opportunity to go moodily dark and arthouse.  Director Robert Siodmak sets PHANTOM LADY in an alternate-reality NYC, with expressionistic camerawork and an artificial setting that influenced the likes of DARK CITY and EYES WIDE SHUT.
