Marcello Mastroianni, as Fellini conduit, is suffering from Director’s block. Bunking off from his current project, he goes to a luxurious resort. He’s soon joined there by cast, crew, wife, mistress, friends and just about everyone else who harangue him and call him out on his bullshit. He fantasizes about past lovers and dream women, and even they are like nah, dude. It’s called 81/2 cause this was Fellini’s 9th feature, ya see.
