Neil Hamburger wanders around the desert and shitty gigs and public bathrooms and LA pool parties. Various phone calls and celebrity cameos aside, it’s all that horrible 8am sun that’s just a bit too bright and you squint into the day to look forward to the next regret. Anyway, it’s real, riveting and Rick Alverson should make a movie a year or a TV show or something asap.
Set in the Mojave Desert, the film follows a broken-down comedian playing clubs across the Southwest, working his way to Los Angeles to meet his estranged daughter.
