Poor, innocent Fox. He works as a carny, but loses the job when the place folds. Strapped for cash and finding no help, he starts hustling. Winning big on the lottery, things look up. Fox meets sophisticates who are vultures in disguise, who latch onto him and his money. Another rough as guts one from Fassbinder – a story about how other people are hell, they’ll use you up and spit you out. His first film was called Love Is Colder Than Death, and that pretty much sums up the thought here. Great denim jacket on Fox, too.
