Mod perfection in Antonioni’s masterful take on one night in a deteriorating relationship. They glare at each other and go off with potential lovers before actually dealing with it. Beautifully shot, a stylish cast and a good jazz soundtrack too. Always a pleasure seeing mid-century Italy – still bombed out and ancient, but halfway into the modern world.
