Tarkovsky takes us to a sloppy paint planet to recover our repressed memories and hidden traumas. We yearn for an idealised past and combat our fate, and have tea with the dead while the rain goes pitter patter against the window. I recommend throwing on your VHS copy of EVENT HORIZON when you get home after this.
