Selected by Paul Marin: “This 1988 remake of the 1950s Steve McQueen creature feature FUCKS! It flips all of the horror movie cliches on their heads like the original did but with updated, gory practical effects. I mean it’s amazing what they were able to accomplish in bringing the title creature to life. I didn’t think I’d ever be more afraid of a pile of goo until I watched this movie. It’s got Shawnee Smith and Erika Eleniak: two of my childhood crushes. It also has a young Kevin Dillon of Entourage Fame. This one’s also a fun one with a high body count, but I never hear anyone really talk about it, so I thought it deserved another spin around the reels. Are the kids alright? Check it and see!”
