A brain-injured dancer (Agathe Rousselle) finds an escape among the gleaming titanium of car shows. Amidst a series of savage murders, she assumes an androgynous identity and takes refuge in the company of firefighters led by a captain (Vincent Lindon) on a years-long search for his missing son. From the meat and blood of RAW to the metallic lust of her sophomore effort, the reflective surface of TITANE reveals filmmaker Julia Ducournau’s preoccupations with the soft, mushy flesh of human identity.
