A hi-jinks, wacky comedy on the surface, but actually a militant Black Power film at heart. Average, middle-aged white guy who seems to do nothing but annoy absolutely everyone around him wakes up Black, and no, he cannot go back. Melvin Van Peebles’ only studio film, and they should have handed him the keys to the lot.
